Good Morning,

I had such a FUN weekend with my little kids.....nieces and nephews are God's answer to us ladies who can't be a mommy!!!! We did movies, found a little turtle, (named him Alex), and my little man had a big night on Saturday. His little league took the team to a Lexington Legends game. The Legends are a minor league team for the Huston Astro's. The little team had a trophy presentation by the Legends AND got to go on the field for the seventh inning stretch song...We had a BLAST!!!!

So, now it is Monday, and I'm back to blogging. We have some big winners at Practical Scrappers for the incredible flower challenge. The last time I checked, we had 160 participants this week, WOWZA!!!!! Our top 3 this week are, Carol, Sarah, and Susan, with the Grand Prize Winner being, Leanne. Congrats to you VERY talented ladies....ALL of you have inspired me....

Our challenge this week is decorative scissors or border punches. I decided to create a flower using a border punch. I will have a tutorial posted at Practical Scrappers on Saturday for this technique.

These flowers are fun to create and just another way to use up scraps and punches....

Little Kids' Christmas

Good Morning,
Today is the first challenge of 2010 over at Practical Scrappers! We are excited about this upcoming year, we have LOTS of FUN things planned, you'll have to stay tuned in as not to miss out on any of the fun.
Our challenge this week is to use buttons on your layout, card, or project. I wanted to alter a cd case for the Little Kids' Christmas photos. It was really easy.

I used the jacket inside as a template for my Bazzill cs. I painted the little snowflakes with a paint pen, paper pieced my snowman, embossed using the swiss dots folder, printed the title and cut with my coluzzle. The date is some yummy glitter stickers from the Robin's Nest. I added just a few ribbons for some more yum factor. Then to bring in the buttons, I wanted them to appear to be snow falling, so I used teeny white buttons and mini glue dots to attach them. His rosy cheeks are also buttons.
I LOVE how this turned out! My DT sisters have some more inspiration for you here. If you visit Practical Scrappers each day, you will see different designers showcasing the current challenge...oh and the inspiration you'll find while there! So, let's see your buttons!

Deck the Halls....

I'm a day late getting this post up. Blogger didn't like me very much yesterday. Let's hope this one works today.

This week at Practical Scrappers, we are making Christmas decorations. OMG, you have got to check out what my amazing dt sisters have designed for your inspiration! It will definitely give you some mojo to create last minute projects. Head over to Practical Scrappers to check it out!
I decided to alter a tin star. I had some of the yummy Bo Bunny papers left over from my AC Bailey kit, so I used that on my star. I love this little star. It was so easy to do. I used copy paper to get my pattern, drew, cut, inked and glued. I did let the glue dry overnight before hanging it on the tree. I totally love how it dress the star up! Look around your stash and see it there is something you already have that you can put a new spin on! Have a great day!

Happy Thanksgiving....

Good Morning,

Today is Thanksgiving Day. I want to wish all of you the most Blessed day. I have such heartfelt thanks and gratitude to each and every person I've met since I began blogging. You have all touched my life in such positive ways, I'm sending big hugs to you all today. Enjoy your family, friends, and good food.

I've had a bad virus on my computer since this weekend, so I've only been doing the bare necessities on it. I want to apologize for not stopping by your blogs. I do think it is finally removed, after having at least three different techs working on it. So, I'll be trying to catch up this evening and tomorrow. The ladies at my church are having a weekend crop in the fellowship hall, can't wait for that!

Today is altered item day at Practical Scrappers. I chose a store bought tag from last year. I removed the top image, added a bling candy cane, some ink, used deco scissors to cut an edge, stamped the To and From on it, and used a pen to add my stitches. I've got several of these to do as I begin my shopping. Let's see your projects for stitching!

Good Friday Morning,

Yay, it is Friday, and less than a week until Thanksgiving. Wow, where has this year gone? The older I get, the faster time flies. Well, Friday brings in a new challenge at Humble Pie Stamps. The Head Bakers have a delish challenge this week. With the holidays quickly approaching, we want to see your altered items. Remember, you do not have to use a Humble Pie stamp, but they are available at the Town Scrapper. You have got to check out my sister's in the kitchen this week. Altered Photo Frame

Hey girls,

This is my second post today. Please scroll down for a Christmas card. As you know our challenge over at Practical Scrappers this week is to use acrylic on our projects. Thursday is altered item day for us. My pastor's daughter just gave birth to beautiful baby girl. I made this frame for baby Hannah. It was black frame I picked up for a buck at the Dollar store. I painted the frame with Making Memories pink acrylic paint. I used some Life Delights paper from CTMH. I painted the inside of the glass down in the corner so the rub-on would really stand out. I sure hope you like it, and I hope you'll be inspired to try you own altered frame.

Today is the day to feature altered items at Practical Scrappers. I chose to alter a gift bag this week. I just cut some daisy d's dp to size. I used some CTMH cardstock, the marquee cut from the Storybook cartridge, and my cuttlebug embossing folder to make a box for my sentiment. I sanded it and love the look. I added a big orange daisy and a wire leaf I had picked up from Wal mart. I took the handle strings out and replaced them with some yummy cocoa ribbon from CTMH. I really love how this turned out and plan to make some more to share on Thanksgiving day. Visit Practical Scrappers to see what my creative sisters came up with for this altered challenge. Boo Bag.....

Happy Thursday!
Practical Scrappers is beginning a new feature this week! Now, on Thursday's we'll be revealing altered items featuring the weekly challenge. I decided to do a treat bag after being inspired by my friend Wanda. Now, my bag isn't hand created like hers. I needed a larger bag and used a bag I had in my stash. First, I cut the top third of the bag off. I covered the front side with some dps from Making Memories. Next, I covered my little flap and then used my CTMH corner rounder with the sleeve off, to make my scalloped border. I used a large hole punch to make the holes for the lacing ribbon. Then I pulled out the nesties for the scalloped square. Don't you just love my Humble Pie Witchie? I made one last week just like her for my Ashlea's treat bucket. This bag is for my niece Samantha, who just turned "Sweet Sixteen" yesterday. It holds her favorite birthday present.....MONEY.
