Blue Hills in Color Throwdown 47

Good Friday to you all! I just watched the weather forecast and we may actually have a sunny day with NO RAIN or storms!! Can you believe it? Our region has battled rain and strong storms for the past three days. On Wednesday, we experienced heavy rain with flooding. Thank you God for the sunshine and 95 degree weather today!

On to my card this morning....I finally got time to play in the Color Throwdown Challenge(CTD47) this week, number 47. The colors are Cameo Coral, Tempting Turquoise, and Kiwi Kiss, or any lime green. I used all CTMH inks in Sorbet, Breeze, and Key Lime. My paper is left-overs from Crate Paper's Blue Hills collection. My layered flower is stamped with the I am stamp from the CTMH Tickled Pink kit. The buttons and bling were just in my stash of yumminess! I hope you enjoy this beautiful day that God has made and have a great weekend!

My Girl

When I saw Dawn's sketch this week at IC Sketches (#21), I knew I wanted to make a 'girly' card for my Ashlea. She has been in ballet and jazz for the past five years. She was selected to be a member of the Junior Prep Elite competition team. She is thrilled to be a part of this traveling team. She will travel to Lousville, Cincinnati, and Myrtle Beach to compete. Her team swept every single competition they entered last season. So, this is for my girl, Ashlea. She is just like my little baby girl and my heart is just bursting with pride! I love you Ashlea, like the stars love the night sky!

Wedded Bliss

Have you ever had a hard time thinking outside the box? Well, for me KJ's Color Chef Challenge this week really made me think outside that big ol' box. Her challenge was to use white and bamboo ONLY !! So, I went looking for a sketch to provide some inspiration. I knew that with these colors, I wanted this to be a wedding card for a friend of mine who is having her wedding later in the summer. So, I found the perfect sketch at Sweet Stop Sketches #8!
I used bamboo and white daisy cardstock, the background is stamped in bamboo ink using Adorable Backgrounds (D1200) and the heart and love are stamped with Love Language (D1343). I used a Just Blooms flower. The pearls and braided
ribbon were leftover from an October 2006 Scrapgoods kit. In the end, I LOVE this card and this week's Color Chef Challenge!

So if you like it, leave some sweetness behind.....

Some Mojo On Wednesday

I wanted to make a fun card for this week's Mojo sketch 91. I am totally lovin' this Animal Cookies paper, aren't you? I used the level 2 paper and stickease for this one. Inks used were clover meadow and dutch blue. Just for a fun touch, I added some Bazzill Bling brads down the outside edge of the card. Hopefully, you can see the brads. My little Jon-Christopher wants me to take him and his sister, Ashela, to the Knoxville Zoo. I thought this would be cute to send them with a note saying "We are going WILD for the zoo!"
Hope you enjoy it!!

Rainy Day Cards

It rained yesterday and I got to spend time playing in the studio! :-) I made this card using Unforgettable level 2 paper pack, sorbet and juniper inks, sorbet bulk ribbon, and Butterfly Wings (D1341). I inked the stamp in sorbet first and then used rock and roll with juniper. I stamped it two times, cut out used mini glue dot to adhere it to card and slightly curled the wing. I attached the second the same way, only I put more curl into the wing to achieve the "in flight" look.

Using this Card Pattern sketch 19, I made this card that uses ocean, black and white cardstock. The flowers are stamped in breeze and black using Friendship Blessings (D1191). The ribbon and bling were just in my stash.

This is a fun card I made using Magnolia line from My Minds Eye. I love this paper so much that I keep every scap from it. Matter of fact, this card is created from those scraps. The stamp used is Free Spirit (1217). I used chocolate ink. The ribbon is CTMH and the brads are Bazzill Bling.
