So, I used up some scraps that were still on my table from a layout over the weekend. Those papers were perfect for the Mojo Monday challenge this week! Here's the sketch .....

I think this is funny how the sun shining on the first layout made it appear a lighter shade of grey paper. I promise the base papers are the same color. 

I simply love how I cut the photo on the second photo.

I finally have something to share with you. Whew,,,, what a week at school!

I used the challenge at Practical Scrappers this week for this card. We are asking you to use patterned papers. I needed a birthday card, so I pulled out my Basic Grey Cupcake papers for this one. I cut the cupcake from the Doodlecharms cart. All inks and stamps are CTMH and ribbon is from stash.

Our top three this week was Debbie, Denise, and Karen. Congratulations ladies, your projects were fantastic. We had so many talented entries, thank you all for chosing to play with us! :)

Now, are you ready for another fun week at Practical Scrappers? This week we are having a pattern paper challenge. You need to use at least two different patterned papers. I chose to share this layout of my Ashlea and Jon-Christopher. These are Easter photos from almost three years ago. I used all Basic Grey papers, Bazzill cardstock, American Crafts embossed chipboard alphas and some ribbon from the stash. I used a big bloom to finish it off. This paper is so beautiful, you really need very little in the way of embellishments.

I did ink up the edges so the layers would be defined. But hey, if you are a regular here, you know I have a love affair with ink!
Now it's your turn to show us your creative use of patterned paper. The deadline to enter is Saturday at 5:00 ET and the prize is a gift certificate to JuJu Bees. It is Tuesday again and that brings the reveal of a card for Practical Scrappers. Our challenge this week is to use white core cardstock. I used up scraps from my Digital-Ink Co card from yesterday for this one. I used the Basic Grey dps and my cardstock is CTMH. I embossed the sorbet with the stylized flowers folder and lightly sanded to reveal the white core. Love that look, don't you? Next I used my nesties to create my Cupcake Creations flower. My good friend, Mona, did a fabby tutorial a couple weeks ago on this technique. I really love the way this card turned out! I had the pleasure and honor to work with Stitchy Stamps. Kathy is so very talented and it is so easy to design using her images. I wanted to use her Pilgrim Prayers image. I had just enough scraps from this Basic Grey to make this card. Don't you just love this silhouette image? These are so easy to use and make such a statement. Good Sunday Morning!

I hope you all have had a Blessed weekend thus far! As you are probably already aware, today is Grandparent's Day! If you are still so very blessed to have grandparents, please go visit with them today and remind them just how much you love and appreciate them. My beautiful Granny is 83 years old, she has been such a pillar and rock in my life, I CHERISH her so much! I praise God for everyday He allows me share with her. Her card is made using the Get Sketchy #5 sketch. I thought this leftover Basic Grey paper was just perfect. I do hope you enjoy! Be blessed today and enjoy the remainder of your weekend!

So Happy Together...

This morning, I wanted to post a double page layout that is one of my favorites. This is my little Ashlea and Jon-Christopher from two years ago. Sorry about the flash on the photos. The dp is Basic Gray, the flower is Prima, cardstock is Bazzill, I don't remember who made the chipboard alphabet, and I used the Cricut for the larger circles, and the ribbon is stash.

More Baby Boy Cards...

Happy Wednesday,

I am still working on baby cards. I just completed one card yesterday. My Little Kids came home from the lake house. When they arrived, we set up the Slip-n-Slide and spent the afternoon playing in the refreshing cool water. After that, we spent the evening having popcorn and a movie. So, I am planning to get the rest of my baby cards finished today. This one features a digi image from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff and I really like using the non-traditional colors in the Basic Gray baby boy Landon and Jackson papers. The zipper pull is Junkitz, ribbon is stash, cardstock is Bazzill, Kimberly's colored pencils, and Moonstruck ink from CTMH.

This one of Jon-Christopher is just too sweet to not post. This was inside my house after he changed back into dry clothes. His little hair all spiked up, those big brown eyes that make my heart melt, God how I love these two Little Kids. I'm not sure if I've ever told you, we call them the Little Kids because their last name is Little.

Adore Sketch Saturday 56

Happy Saturday Ladies!! I have a full schedule this weekend. My little 9 year old niece, Ashlea is helping me decorate her room here at my house. She comes to visit quite often and says she 'needs her own space!' Imagine that, a nine year old needing her own space...lol! Well, as a good Auntie does, we have a wall that is already finished in Lime Juice and today will be finishing the three Tango (hot pink) walls. I have decided that my scrap room will also move into this room. By moving it, Ashlea's brother, Jon-Christopher will then be able to have his own room. You know how it is, even though he is only 4, he will still say, 'where is my room?'

So, I got up early and have card for Sketch Saturday 56. This is my first time playing over there and I have to say it was fun! I used up some stash of left-over dp for this card.
