Chipboard at Practical Scrappers

Good Morning,
Today is Monday and that is a new day for us at Practical Scrappers! This week our challenge is to use chipboard. I had made one of these chipboard books a while back and still had some product left, so I decided to make one just about my Gran and all the things I love about her. These photos were take in 2008. The mini album is black chipboard and so are the frames. I used Cosmo Cricket to dress it all up.

Here is a close up of one of the frames. I'll share more when I get it finished.

Mamaw's Favorites....

Good Morning,

Have you been to visit The Sisterhood yet? Today you will be introduced to one of our founding sisters, be sure to go check out who she is, then pay her a visit and leave some love!

Today I'm sharing a project that is a few years old, but so close to my heart. Being a southern girl, we all call my Gran "Mamaw (Mam-aw), tell them Fern, it is the best name, next to Mom that southern woman can have. Anyways, my Gran is 83 and a few years ago, she and I sat down and I had her use her own handwriting to record some of her favorite recipes that she hopes the family will continue for many generations.

I really distressed the SEI papers with my inks and added charms, lots or ribbons, and other embellies. This is a cherished keepsake for many generations to come!

Sharing The Robin's Nest Projects...

Good Sunday Morning,

I hope this finds you all warm and safe this morning! Today is one of my favorite days of the year. I LOVE Super Bowl Sunday. My family gathers at Gran's to have good food and we are all huge football fans! I'm a happy girl today. The Colts have been my long time favorite team. I'm a fan of Peyton's from his early days at Tennessee. However, I'm also a huge fan of the Saints. So, I'll be happy with the outcome of the game. I must admit, my second favorite QB is Brett Favre, I really wanted him to make it to the bowl... So who are you cheering for to win

Enough football, this weekend at Practical Scrappers, we are featuring one of our wonderful sponsors, The Robin's Nest. We received the same beautiful winter kit and had our way with two projects. This paper is just so very scrummy! The quality is fantastic. My first project is a card. I love this rub-on. It was just so easy to put down. The sparkly snowflake and baubles add just the right finishing touch, don't you think? That rich velvet ribbon and button are from my stash.

Next up, the beautiful layout. All I did here was add a piece of patterned paper for some contrast behind the photo, I cut a large circle from the embossed chocolate paper, used a few of the snowflake rubons, the title and journaling box are from stickers they sent to us. I used some more of the baubles and this page is finished!

My Dream For You....

SECOND POST TODAY, SCROLL DOWN
Well, my Jon-Christopher came to visit today, Ashlea went with my other sister, Auntie Tee, to get her Halloween costume. Jon-Christopher and I made some of his Halloween cards. He made it through about 10 and decided he was tired. We'll finish them tomorrow he says. I think that might mean, it is yours now Nee Nee! Anyways, when he went to Granny's I got to go play in some scrapping challenges. This layout features the sketch over at Stuck on U Sketches. Isn't this a great sketch! You need to go over to there and check out their amazing DT projects, wow they are incredible!

The next challenge I am entering this one in is Frosted Designs. Three of my Practical Scrappers sisters are involved in this challenge. Meg and Jamie are the founders and team leaders. Jessica is one of the very talented DT's there. The challenge over there is to use a marquee. I really like how this layout came together. I'm loving getting some scrapping done! Good Sunday Morning!

I hope you all have had a Blessed weekend thus far! As you are probably already aware, today is Grandparent's Day! If you are still so very blessed to have grandparents, please go visit with them today and remind them just how much you love and appreciate them. My beautiful Granny is 83 years old, she has been such a pillar and rock in my life, I CHERISH her so much! I praise God for everyday He allows me share with her. Her card is made using the Get Sketchy #5 sketch. I thought this leftover Basic Grey paper was just perfect. I do hope you enjoy! Be blessed today and enjoy the remainder of your weekend!

Just You & Me....

This is a layout from a while back. My Jon-Christopher was just about 16 months old here. He'll be five next week, where does time go? I love the simple elements in this layout. All the cardstock is Bazzill, the dp is My Mind's Eye, the ribbon is offray, the flower and big brad are Bazzill, the bling is Prima, the frame is from stash, the overlay is My Mind's Eye. The stamps are CTMH Doodle Alphabet.
