Some Halloween stuff....

Are you ready for your trick-or-treaters? Our city is having Halloween tonight. I never get any little spooks or cuties come up my way. I miss that so much. There is still such a fun loving little girl inside me! Don't believe me, take a look at my costume for school yesterday.

There are three of us who teach third grade at my school. Jan is the Cat, the other Kim and I are the Things. Did you check out those wigs...boy was I ever so ready to shed that when I got home.

We had such a fun day. Our school is K-4 with just over 400 students. We have a very nice walking track that stretches for just over a mile. Parents and businesses lined up along the track for a "Trunk-or-Treat" event. The cars and treaters were all decorated and in costume too! We walked up and back. The kids received so much candy. This was a wonderful safe environment for them to do what they love about Halloween, dress up and get candy!
And check this out, no you are not seeing Johnny Depp, however it is Jack Sparrow, aka, my Principal!

It looks like the little boy is alive and well within him, too!
I hope you all have a safe and spooky Halloween!

r.i.p.

Welcome to a fun day!!! Over at Frosted Designs we were sharing some Holiday Treats! Our sponsor is Purple Panda. We were given some fab little images to play with. I know I wanted to use the spooky "rip" image. So I created a little goodie for my Honeybee!

Side view of the pretty glass jar. This used to be a candle jar....I love it
I used scraps from the DCWV Midnight Spell papers as the background for the image, added a couple bats, some Halloween ribbon and the cute little tag is finished.

This is the top view of her candy jar. I used a felt embellishment and some Halloween trim to finish off the treat. Oh and my Honeybee found it last night....needless to say, I doubt he'll have any candy left by Sunday!
I hope you'll check out the rest of my fabby Frosted sisters. There are some spooktactular projects for you to browse today! I can't wait to see what you create!

Happy Halloween...

Good Morning,
Today is a new challenge reveal at The Sisterhood. Lovely Lisa is hosting today. She is challenging you to create a "Boo"rific project. I had this little card left from last year. I so wanted to recycle the vintage image. I instantly thought of you, Dar when I pulled this out! You always do vintage in the most incredible way!!

It already had the little bit of sparkle about the pumpkins and the blue background. All I really added was the little bits of amber bling and some pom trim. I cut my black cardstock slightly larger and distressed the edges with with a pair of scissors.
Now head on over to The Sisterhood for a cup or "Boo"rific inspiration.

Halloween Mini .....

Good Morning,
I haven't had anything crafty to share since Sunday. I thought I'd share some of this book that is almost finished. This is last year's Halloween Party mini. I always take my little kids to the Pumpkin Patch and we have a big party at my house that night. I think I only need 3 pages to get this one complete.

The album is Making Memories and those velvet bats were already on the kraft cover. I cut the title from swiss dots Bazzil and used a stamp for the Happy Halloween

This inside cover is all stamps.....

This was the invitation I created for the kiddos! We had such a "spooky" night!
Don't forget to visit Practical Scrappers today to read the new article on distressed cards.....

Boo!!!

Wooo Hoooo, my computer is working again! Hopefully it is fixed for good now!!! It feels so good to have it up and running! I had really forgotten what it was like before the laptop!
Anyways, here is my take on this week's Frosted Design challenge. Barb is hosting and she has challenged us to use some hand doodling and our own handwriting on our project.
This is one will be for Jon-Christopher or Hunter. I just used my white Jelly Roll pen to add some doodles to the "air" around the bat and a spooky Boo!!
Everything on this card is left over from last year's stash.
I hope you will hop on over to Frosted Designs to check out what the rest of my fabby frosted sisters came up with.
Enjoy this beautiful day!!!

Blog Party Day 3, Betterscrap and a winner......

The challenge this week at Better Living through Scrapbooking
October Challenge #1
"Favorite Color Challenge"
Create a layout dedicated to your favorite color. Choose at least two of the following:
1. Journal on the layout as if you are speaking directly to your favorite color, and tell it why you love it, and what it means to you.
2. Take a photo of something you love that in your favorite color, and use it on your layout.
3. Use rounded corners somewhere on your layout.
4. Create hand-doodling somewhere on your page.
5. Make the name of your favorite color a prominent part of your title.
I am so in love with the color yellow! This was a no brainer for me......here is my dedication to "YELLOW"

Criteria I chose to use on this layout include:
I journaled to my favorite color, yellow, as if I were speaking directly to it, I told her why I love her and just what she means to me. I also chose to add some rounded corners with the floral paper. I used some hand doodling with a stencil and I included YELLOW in my title. I must say this is a challenge that I LOVE, it has inspired me to scrap more of my favorites to include in my book of me!!!

Supplies:
Discount Cardstock Sunflower 80# 12 x 12, Plaid Stylish stencil, Plaid Apricot acrylic paint, pop dots by Plaid, Mod Podge Sparkle (inside the heart, on the butterfly and flowers), Gauche Alchemy (stamp and foil ribbon), We R Memory Keepers floral paper, Die Cuts with a View Nana's Nursery (plaid paper), CTMH yellow heart paper, All Night Media splatter stamp, Sakura White Jelly Roll Pen, CTMH orange pen, Prima (blooms and alphabet), Misc. buttons, twine, ribbon, butterfly.

Techniques I used are to paint the All Night Media stamp with Apricot paint and stamp directly onto the page with ink. I love this!!!! I also chose to not ink the edges of my pages, but rather paint them with a sponge. This gave such a fun soft effect! I also used the sparkle Mod Podge to paint the inside of my heart and add just a touch of bling to the butterfly and flower. Did you notice my ribbon flowers? Those are just leftover pieces of ribbon that have been folded lengthwise, crisscrossed, and attached with a brad.

And now for the winner of my blog hop at Betterscrap. I used Random.org to choose the winner......

Lucky Girl Blog Party and Frosted Designs....

Good Morning,
We have a new challenge up at Frosted Designs, we want to see your favorite book as inspiration for your project. This can include your book in the title or just as inspiration. I used my new Boo Crew Lucky Girl October Kit to create this haunting little layout.

Everything on this page is in the kit except the skull ribbon, that is from my stash. As you can tell from my title, I love the Mary Pope Osborne Haunted Castle on Hallows Eve book. I read this every October to my third grade. This book was the perfect inspiration for these spooky papers. Be sure to visit my fabby Frosted sisters today!!!!

As always with our Lucky Girl Blog Party, you have the chance to win a RAK. Leave a comment here, follow if you are inspired by my work, and answer this question....
What is your favorite Halloween/Fall activity?

More From the Halloween Party...

Good Thursday Morning,
I hope you're having a great week so far! I'm looking forward to 3:00 today, my weekend will begin then. Ashlea is in a cheer and dance competition in Gatlinburg, TN this weekend. It is the Christmas parade there, with over 80,000 expected in attendance. My 13th anniversary is on December 7, so the Honeybee and I rented a chalet in the mountains. We'll be celebrating while in Gatlinburg.
Anyways, here are the next two pages in my Little Kids Halloween mini album. This first one is Ashlea's favorite (this year) movie of this Halloween. Both kids loved it and probably watched it at least 5 times.

This second one shows their decorations outside on my front porch. They choose the decorations and actually helped get the tree, the other outside pumpkin lights, and the big spider up. We really had such a fantastic time.

Next on the agenda is the annual gingerbread house sleep over. That will probably be next weekend. We have a yummy time then too!

Halloween Party....

Good Sunday Morning,
I hope you've enjoyed this beautiful weekend. Do you have your Christmas tree decorated yet? Don't you love getting all the decorations out and in place? I do. Christmas is my favorite holiday! So why am I posting Halloween? My friends and I scrapped at church this weekend. I got many Christmas cards completed and began my Little Kids Halloween book.
This page is the first one in the album and it holds the little invitation I made for them.

These two pages are the "yummy menu" which consited of Skeleton Ring Fingers, Cobweb Corn, Sewer Slug Slime with Batwing Sauce, and some delicious Witches' Brew to wash it all down.

Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween!

Today, I am just sharing some photos of my my Ashlea and Jon-Christopher's Halloween party from last Saturday night. I hope you all have a happy and safe Halloween!

For some yummy appetizers, try some "Skeleton Fingers", delish!

The main dish, "Sewer Slug Slime with Bat-wing Eyeballs!" Yummy...

No party would be complete without some cobweb popcorn!

Here is a view of the "Witches Brew". It was grape juice with a gummy snake and spider dropped in, along with a handful of spider rings. This was the "magical potion" for fun!

This is the little Halloween tree that Ashlea and Jon-Christopher decorated on my front porch. Of course, the huge spider was one of Jon's favorites!

Spooky....

Yippee, it is Friday!
Friday means a new challenge at Humble Pie Stamps! This week our head baker's have a sketch for you. This sketch was really fun to work with, it made me think outside my little box and I love that! Here is the sketch:

Here is the card I came up with. I used the adorable little bat boy image. I just adore him and think our stamp artist, Heather, really did a fantastic job with him. I just adore how he looks as if he is deep in thought. I'd love for you to visit each of my DT sisters and leave some love for them, as they have some incredible designs. You have until midnight November 5 to play and remember, you do not have to use Humble Pie stamps. I'd love to see your take on the sketch!
The winner will receive $10 in Maggie Money!!!!

Boo Bag.....

Happy Thursday!
Practical Scrappers is beginning a new feature this week! Now, on Thursday's we'll be revealing altered items featuring the weekly challenge. I decided to do a treat bag after being inspired by my friend Wanda. Now, my bag isn't hand created like hers. I needed a larger bag and used a bag I had in my stash. First, I cut the top third of the bag off. I covered the front side with some dps from Making Memories. Next, I covered my little flap and then used my CTMH corner rounder with the sleeve off, to make my scalloped border. I used a large hole punch to make the holes for the lacing ribbon. Then I pulled out the nesties for the scalloped square. Don't you just love my Humble Pie Witchie? I made one last week just like her for my Ashlea's treat bucket. This bag is for my niece Samantha, who just turned "Sweet Sixteen" yesterday. It holds her favorite birthday present.....MONEY. Click here to check out the cupcake mini album created by Sarah, it is so adorable and creative! Also, don't forget only two days left to enter the DT Call at Practical Scrappers!!!! I want to see your altered items using punches! Have fun!!!

eek....

Good Morning,
My first card this morning is for th new Cafe Mojo challenge. We are doing a fun color challenge that just screams Halloween to me. The fabby colors are ORANGE, PURPLE, and GREEN. When I thought about this card, I just knew this would be it! My inspiration is a card I saw last week on Wanda's blog. It was a fabby card using witch stockings. Mine are Making Memories glittery rubons. Aren't they the cutest? Get into the spirit and create a fun card, layout, or altered item and join us for a cup of mojo at Cafe Mojo this week!

Trick or Treat Humble Pie Style....

Good Friday Morning!
We have survived yet another week. Today is reveal day at Humble Pie Stamps! OH, and do we ever have a reveal for you.....
Our challenge is to make a Halloween non card project. As always, you DO NOT have to use Humble Pie Stamps. The Bakers have been really busy cooking up these spooky concoctions. You can vist them via the links on my side bar, you WILL NOT want to miss this, trust me!!!
I decided to create a Halloween pail for Ashlea. I used my little Humble Pie witch, colored her and then added some glitter to her hat and dress. I want her to be the "Diva Witch". I also added stickles to her hat and the trim of her dress. I think this really lets her 'shine'. I also used the big pumpkin and broom from Humble Pie Stamps. I used my d'vine flourishes and embossed the black cardstock. The moon is just a circle punch and my bat is from M&M Designz at Digital Ink Co. I put a little treat bag inside the pail and filled it with goodies.
I know all you creative ladies can't wait to get busy with a Halloween non card project to share with us! I can't wait to see them and you know that you are playing for a prize of $10 in Maggie Money!!!!! Don't forget, Leah posted a fabby tutorial on stamping flourishes on a transparency and decorating with pearl paints. You really MUST see her tutorial! I hope you play along with us and have a fabby Friday!

Jon-Christopher's Halloween Cards...

Here is a quick look at my Little Man and two of his cards. He was very proud of them. Isn't he the cutest little spook you've seen today? He spent the night at his Great Gran's last night and came back to Nee Nee's house this morning. Ashlea has worked on some art projects all day. Jon-Christopher and Unkie B have watched Wolverine all day. Anyway, before they went home, he did let me get a quick pic. I'll be back in the morning with my weekly Practical Scrappers and Digital Ink Co posts. If you haven't been over to check them out, both are revealing a new challenge tomorrow!

Trick or Treat Humble Pie Style....

****SECOND POST FOR TODAY, PLEASE SCROLL DOWN****
Good Evening,
I finally got my Humble Pie challenge completed! Yay! The challenge this week is to scraplift one of the Baker's cards. I chose to lift Leah's fabby card with a tag. You can see her card here. Today is the last day for the challenge. You still have until midnight to get your lifted card in. I used my Inkadinkado Halloween stamps to stamp the sentiment, and the image is from Stamping Dragon Designs that can be found at Digital Ink Co. I hope you enjoy and go play in this fun challenge!

Friends Beware.....

Good Tuesday to you, I have a card for you this morning that features decorative edge scissors for the weekly challenge at Practical Scrappers. I wanted this card to be a different shape, so I cut one of the marquee shapes from my Storybook cartridge. I trimmed the dp down with deco scissors and then stamped my web and embossed with gold powder. The sentiment is at he top and is from Memory Makers glitter rubons. I apologize that it may be difficult to read but it says "Friends beware" and there is a little touch of orange glitter in it. I topped the web off with an orange spider. He was one of the little rings that come in a pack of 50. I trimmed the ring off and shortened the legs just a bit. What do you think?
