Delight....

Have you heard of my Year End Event Give-A-Way???? Read all about HERE!!!!! Be sure to register!
Oh my goodness, I finally got to create a layout!!!! Oh how I have missed doing that! I decided to scrap this pic of me, something else I never do! I used some beautiful Blossom papers and complements for this one.
I used pop dots to put some lift on the flowers.
Of course my inspiration came from Scrap Out Stash's current sketch. I love it!!!!
Happy Scrapping,

I {heart} Me...

I was inspired by Scrap Our Stash to create a layout using a selfie and old stash. I really had fun digging through all my old stash for this layout. I printed the photo in a draft style mode using only grey scale . I wanted it to have a distressed look about it. I did have to trim the bling flourish on the side of the photo, one of them was coming across my face...
I also found this sketch that I used for inspiration...

Recipe: Basic Grey Sweet Pea Alyssa, Fusion Spoiled, Fandango Black Tie, and Mustard Aged &  Confused Vagabond papers. The butterflies were in my stash along with the bling. Flowers are La Petite by the Paper Studio, ribbon is by CTMH (so old, not even available any more), Ranger distress inks in Walnut Stain and Antique Linen. Finally, those Sugar Coated chipboard alphabet are from doodlebug design.

Me @ 41....

Welcome to an All About Me challenge at Better Living Through Scrapbooking.
“About Me Challenge”
Create a scrapbook page layout about yourself.
Chose at least 2 of the following:
1. Include at least one photograph of you (and only you).
2. Journal about yourself (i.e., your quirks, something you would like to change, your hopes, disappointments, etc.)
3. Use a traditional office supply on your layout.
4. Use foam adhesives or “pop-dots” to give elements on your page dimension.
5. Use an old book or magazine page as part of your layout.”

Sponsored Supplies Used:
Cardstock: Discount Cardstock “Clove Felt 80# 12 X 12”
Papers and embellishments: Gauche Alchemy “Acme Mixed Media Paper Crafting Kit”
Stamp: Plaid “All Night Media: Splatter Pattern Stamp
Paint: Plaid “Apple Barrel: Apricot
Adhesive: Plaid “Mod Podge: Matte

Additional Supplies Used:
Paper: My Mind’s Eye
Embellishments: Lucky Girl Crafts Kit alphas, Making Memories journaling tag
Ink: Close to My Heart
Misc: Felt flower, button, twine

Criteria I chose for this one was to include a photo of me, use an old page from a book, journal about something life changing (my infertility issues), and to use office supplies (tag and twine). I also used some Plaid pop dots to lift the stamp and the old clothes pin up off the page just a bit.

I loved this All About Me Challenge. I really had to think about something that defines me as a person at this stage in my life. For me, at 41, that was that I have finally come to accept my infertility. I always knew that at this stage of my life I would be a mom, driving kids to and from football practice. We'll, I'm a teacher of third grade students and an Aunt (Nee Nee) to six incredible kiddos. I'm not technically a mother, but my life is very blessed and fulfilled. I'm in a very happy place at 41!
So now hop on over to Betterscrap to visit with the rest of the Betterscrap ladies and she what incredible inspiration they have for you!!!!

Because of you....

Good Morning,
Better Living Through Scrapbooking Challenge #2

This week’s challenge is to create a page layout about the most influential person in your life.

Chose a person, living or dead, whether you know them personally or not, that has had a big influence on your life, and create a layout about them. This person can be a friend, relative, historical figure, celebrity – anyone at all.

Choose at least 2 of the following:
* The photo must be black & white. If you don’t have a black & white version, change the photo to black & white in your favorite photo editing software, or take the photo to your local 1-hour photo and have them do it for you. You can also make a black & white copy of the photo at your local office store. If you do not have a photo of the person (if they are a historical figure or celebrity) find one on the internet and print it out.
* Use at least one major circular element on your page – whether it’s the photo, photo mat, or other noticeable circular element.
* Use paint or ink in a fun and unusual way.
* Hand make your own flowers and use them on the layout.
* Include hand written journaling

And here is my reveal....
I chose a black and white photo of my Mom and I at the beach, a handmade rose (love how it came out), hand written journaling, and a large circle element.
All the papers, ink, and stamps for this one are CTMH. The bling is Prima and Kaiser, the ribbon is from my stash.
You must visit the Better Scrap Girls to read about who has influenced them. While there, leave them some scrappy love!!!!

Deadline to enter Challenge #2 (and all other August challenges, including challenge #1) is midnight EST August 31st, 2010.

Us....

Good Monday Morning,
Today is a quick post. It is Monday and that means a new challenge at Practical Scrappers!!!!!! We have winners from our border punch/decorative scissors challenge. Our Top 3 are Andrea, Sarah, Kendra, and our winner is Angie. Congratulations ladies, you created some awesome projects this past week!
Our new challenge is to use animation or cartoon in your project.

I had this Sassafras paper that was just perfect for this challenge. The clouds, rainbows, and mushrooms are such fun and yummy papers for the photos I wanted to scrap. I also loved all the color, I can get trapped in the muted subtle colors sometimes. I think everything about this layout is reflective of the fun we had the day these pictures were taken.
Want some more inspiration? Visit my DT sister's all week, they have lots of fun for you to browse. While there, leave them some love.
We are being sponsored this week by Digi Doodle. The winner will receive three digis!!! As always, you will have until 5:00 EST on Saturday to link up. I hope to see you join in the fun this week!
Blessings,

Robin's Nest at Practical Scrappers....

Good Thursday Morning,
First, I want to apologize for not getting to read my blogs daily. Since we've returned from our weekend away, I've been very busy with church and school functions in the evenings. I do hope to get caught up tonight.
Speaking of getting caught up, here are two layouts I did for a feature at Practical Scrappers. One of our awesome sponsors is The Robin's Nest. They sent this yummy paper and embellies. Christine, Angie, Kerri, and myself got to design two pages using this kit. Don't you love this paper? This one features the sticker trees. The polka dot is the back side of another sheet from the kit. The poinsettias and ribbon are from my stash. The glitter alphabet came in the kit too!

I fell in love with this paper as soon as I opened the kit. Look at these incredible glittered flourishes. Oh my, this paper is soooooo beautiful. I printed one of Ashlea's ballet pix from the Nutcracker (2008) for this one. With paper this gorgeous, who needs embellies? I did use the holly rub-ons and the little baubles that were in the kit I used a piece of red organza to finish it off.
Blessings,
