Faces of fun.....

Hello....
I finally got a minute to play....so I decided to use my DT sister, Sasya's, sketch at the Practical Scrappers Friday Sketches....isn't this just so fabulous? So many ways you could do this one!!!!
You all know me and what I love....my little kids. I took these photos on July 3 in my daddy's front yard at the lake house. The temps were almost 100 that day. The kids had so much fun cooling it on the 3 person slip n slide....but they still slid one person at a time...
I used all CTMH "Let's Get Together"products on this one, except for the brads, those are American Crafts and the "faces of" is cut from the new Cherry Limeade circut lite cart. I used Ocean Blue ink and pen from CTMH to create the water look at the bottom of the page, to distress the sides and to outline the title. The sun is embossed with the cuttlebug d'vine folder and I used CTMH Goldenrod to apply a little ink. The ribbon is form stash.
I apologize for the journaling not being clear enough to read. I used a aqua gelly roll pen and it didn't photograph very well. The journaling reads...you guys had such a FUN day playing on the Slip-n-Slide. July 3, 2010.
I hope you get a chance to play with this sketch, if you do, link it up to PS and you'll be eligible for our July sketch prize. You will find it on my right side bar.
Have a "sun"sational Sunday!!!!

Friday Sketches at Practical Scrappers...

Good Morning,
My mom had a very good night last night. All of her tests are great, her heart rate is back to normal and she will probably be moved back onto the med/surg floor today. Her doc is saying surgery is back on for Monday. Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers.

Here is the sketch for the Friday Sketches at Practical Scrappers

Here is my take on it. This card features an image from Squigglefly

This is my Dad's Father's Day card for tomorrow.
ETA: Just saw this one fits the Raise the Bar challenge this week.

Good Saturday Morning,
I'm sharing this fabby sketch brought to you by my incredibly talented Practical Scrappers sister, Pia. This is the Friday Sketch that you can play along with this weekend. Isn't it wonderful?

This is my take on it.....my little man has been playing baseball for a month now and I hadn't scrapped any of his photos yet. So this sketch was the inspiration I needed to get moving.

Everything on this page is Little Yellow Bicycle except the ribbon. I hope you are inspired to play along with us on this one, don't forget to link up with Mr. Linky! Have a terrific Saturday!

Celebrate Life.....

Good Morning,
Happy Mother's Day to all my scrappy friends!!!! I hope you all have the most wonderful day today.

I'm sharing the Practical Scrappers sketch with you today. I had this ready to share yesterday, but I got all wrapped up in my garden. I went out at 9 am and came in about 8:30 last night. I got most of my many gardens cleaned and planted. I'm finishing up today.

So here is Ann-Katrin's sketch for this week, fab huh?

Since I had made a New Year's resolution to scrap more of me, I decided it was about time to do another layout of me. These photos were taken on the day my Honeybee and I went to Bad Branch Falls back in April. I think this CTMH paper was just perfect for this sketch. All supplies are CTMH with the exception of the stickles.

If you get time this week, try this sketch out and let us see your layout or card!
Again, have a fantastic Mother's Day!

you...

Good Saturday Morning,
This is short post this morning. We are in Cincinnati for Ashlea's last dance comp of the season. This is the big one.....she competes today between 12:30 and 2 with awards at 4. Wish her lots of luck...
Here is the Friday sketch at Practical Scrappers this week. Love this one Ann-Katrin!

This is my take on it! The paper is by Fancy Pants and really needs very little in the way of embellishments. I have included a hidden journaling tag behind one of the pictures.
Play along with this great sketch!
I'll be visiting you all later this evening. Have a great day!

Its A Beautiful Day....

Good Evening,
I have been enjoying this beautiful weather we're having! Ben and I went up to my daddy's orchard and sprayed the peach trees today. The bloom are all gone now, so the peaches will begin to grow in the next few weeks. He always has the best peaches, I suppose they are the best because they are grown on the hill just above my backyard!

Today, I bring you the weekend sketch from Practical Scrappers. Now I did take a few liberties with the sketch. I began with a card and mid-stream, changed my idea and ended up with a gift bag! At any rate, it was completely inspired by Gloria's sketch below.
Here's the gift bag, I told you I took a few liberties.....sometimes sketches just need to give you a place to start. I used the rainbow and girlie turtle images from Creations by Penny, our fabulous sponsor this month at Practical Scrappers. She has a brand new forum, please visit and say hello!
So I used the fabby digis, some Martha glitter, watercolor paper, pencils, I embossed the blue cardstock and used ink from and a sticker from CTMH. The bag, tissue, and ribbon are from the dollar store. I hope you enjoyed the fun bag, oh and don't forget, we are having our DT Call at Practical Scrappers until April 18, please stop by! We'd love to see your talents!

Let it Snow!

Good Morning,
This morning I'm bringing you the sketch from this last Friday at Practical Scrappers. I love this sketch and can see myself using it time and time again on layouts and cards.
I decided that since I had so many snow photos from this winter, that I had may as well scrap them. This is Ashlea playing in my Gran's yard. She was doing her cheer toe touches. So I aptly named them "snowtouches". She had such a fun time that day.

All paper, stickers, and overlay are Bo Bunny. I used some bling from my stash to go inside the snowflakes. This sketch offers up lots of inspiration, I hope it inspires you!
Have a terrific Tuesday!

Practical Scrappers Sketch....Wonder

Good Saturday Morning,
I hope you are all ready for a day filled with sunshine. At least I hope you are getting my weather today. We are expecting close to 70 and all sunshine! My little man, Jon-Christopher, plays in his last Jr. Pro game today and they will have a "Trophy Ceremony" after the game. You would think my five year old nephew is about to cash in the winning lottery ticket. Oh the joys and innocence of childhood.
Here's the sketch at Practical Scrappers this weekend by Ann Katrin. She is so very talented in designing these fabulous sketches.

I had this photo of Ashlea from Easter 2003. She is giving the little shy look in this one.

I used some really old rub-ons for my flourishes. The title is by Glitz Designs. My papers are all Kaitlin from Cosmo Cricket. My flowers are CTMH and Prima. The inks are Tim Holtz and the brad is from stash.

Enjoy your Saturday!

imagine....

Good Morning,
It feels so good to get this post up early! Here is the sketch this weekend at Practical Scrappers, it's another fantastic sketch from Ann-Katrin.

I was so inspired to go outside my color box on this one by my fellow dt sister, Joni. She always does the most wonderful layouts with white or very light base pages. So, I threw my white page in on this one.

My paper and overlay are Fancy Pants. I used a template for the flourishes, embossed a little silver around them so that they matched the frame. I cut the title from the Home Accents cart. For a little more color, I added some Prima posies and butterflies from K & Co.

This is a great sketch, if you get to play along with us, be sure to link it up here.

Enjoy your beautiful Sunday!

Valentine....

Good Morning,
We have a fun new sketch up at Practical Scrappers this morning.
I love this sketch, my page just came together. I've used up that stash of My Mind's Eye papers that I've had forever. These photos are a couple years ago, but worked with the paper perfectly. AND what about the "Honey be mine?" You know since I call Ben my Honeybee, he loved that. I used foam dots to give dimension to the hearts, the little cupid, as well as the title.
So, if you are like me, and you find yourself being snowed in today, pull out some papers and see what inspiration this gives you. Be sure to post it to the Mr. Linky at Practical Scrappers.

beauty...

Good Morning,
My little "Dancing Queen" is performing again today, so I'll be trying to catch up on all my blogs this evening. I've had three super busy days at school and haven't been around. I'm looking forward to it tonight! I miss all my inspiration!

This has been a great week though, I was featured as top 3 at Tellen's Place for this card AND I just saw that I am top 3 at Saturday Spotlight for this layout!!! Yahoo!
At Practical Scrappers, we are now designing for the Friday Sketches. Our fabulous sketch designer, Ann Katrin, designed this sketch. I love it and knew I wanted to use it for one of Ashlea's dance comp. photos.

This photo was right after her team had accepted the Grand Prize trophy at the Jam Fest in August. I had to title the page "Beauty", look at that beautiful face and smile! I got to play with my new expression on this one too! Try out this great sketch and leave a link on Practical Scrappers!
