Sisterhood and CR84FN

Today is Wednesday, which means that The Sisterhood is announcing a new challenge! Micki, my lovely sister, is hosting this week. She has chosen birthday as a theme. My best friend and co worker has a birthday in just a couple weeks, so I'm ready now! I used the color challenge at CR84FN3 to inpire this card.

I used all scraps on this one. The cardstock was already embossed with this shimmery leaf pattern, such a pretty base to a feminine card. I dug through the patterned paper box to find this sweet pink print paper. I wanted a big loose sprial flower to be the focal point. I know you probably can't tell, but I put a little bling in the center of the flower. The sentiment is a clear sticker from my stash, as is the cute ribbon.

Now, hop on over to the Sisterhood to see what the Sisters have for you birhtday inspiration this week! Hope you play along!

Eeek!!!!

Good Morning,

Today is my day to host the challenge over at The Sisterhood. I chose to use a Sketchabilities sketch by Karan Gerber. You all know how I love sketches!!!! This one just called out to me....

Isn't it just perfect for any and all cards, and layouts too! I went with a Halloween card as I'm just about finished with mine for this year. I'm giving this one to my Principal along with a bag of chocolates....what educator doesn't love chocolate?

These papers were in a kit I won over at Debbie's blog. They are DCWV Midnight Spell stack. I hate that the silver foil around the moon and eek looks white. I just couldn't get it to photograph very well at all. I love the big bling for bat eyes!!!

Lookie what the random winner of this week's challenge will win.....

Hurry on over to The Sisterhood to see what my lovely sistahs did with this sketch. Leave a link to your project by 5 pm (est) on November 2 for your chance to win!!!

Happy Halloween...

Good Morning,
Today is a new challenge reveal at The Sisterhood. Lovely Lisa is hosting today. She is challenging you to create a "Boo"rific project. I had this little card left from last year. I so wanted to recycle the vintage image. I instantly thought of you, Dar when I pulled this out! You always do vintage in the most incredible way!!

It already had the little bit of sparkle about the pumpkins and the blue background. All I really added was the little bits of amber bling and some pom trim. I cut my black cardstock slightly larger and distressed the edges with with a pair of scissors.
Now head on over to The Sisterhood for a cup or "Boo"rific inspiration.

LOVE....

Good Morning,
Today is a new reveal day at The Sisterhood! My fabby sister Darlene is hosting today. She wants to see us "Let it shine"......you can use bling, glimmer mist, shimmer paint, glitter, anything to "shine".....

I came up with this black and white card. I have a friend who is getting married on October 30. This will be just perfect for her. The flower and bling are from Recollections. I used some black and white ribbon from my stash, CTMH cardstock and rubon. Very simple, yet so elegant.
Hop on over to The Sisterhood to see what inspiration the rest of my sisters have for you!

Giggle....

Good Morning,
Today is reveal day at The Sisterhood. Our challenge this week is to use three or more flowers as embellishments on your project. Here is my clean and simple card.

I really wanted to use this little giggle ticket for my sentiment. So I chose this fun pink patterned paper from The Paper Studio, a ribbon from my scrap drawer, and three flowers. I inked the largest flower with blush ink from CTMH. I'm adding this to a box of homemade chocolate chip cookies for a special little girl at school.
Hop on over to The Sisterhood and check out what my sistahs have for your inspiration!

Grow...

Good Morning,
It is a new reveal over at The Sisterhood today! Tanny is hosting and she has chosen the theme of birthday. I created this really simple card with these precious little daisy buttons.
The daisy is my favorite flower. I love how simple this one is. The cardstock is all CTMH, the buttons came from Wal-Mart, and the sentiment is American Crafts rub-ons.
Hop on over to visit my sisters and check our their birthday inspiration for you!

I used this sketch from one of my scrappy bff's, Brenda, at Sketches 4 All

This paper is from a pack I picked up at Hobby Lobby. I cut the flowers from a sheet in the pad and the red is some scraps of Bazzill. I scalloped the red strip and then inserted the brads and those alpha buttons are sooooo old!

Good Afternoon,

Well, I'm back from a great day and late night of scrapping! I had so much fun just being with my scrappy BFF's!!! In between the socializing, drinking coffee, and delicious food, I did get 8 pages completed for my retirement album. I'm using some of them as dt projects so, you'll be seeing them soon!
In the meantime, today is Around the World at The Sisterhood! Linda is the sister hosting this week and she wants to see you scrap the USA....

I was inspired to pull out some really old photos, Ashlea's first July 4th (and she is 10 now!!!!), really old papers and stickers to work on this layout. I really like the simplicity of it, as well as using up some oldies from the stash!
Please visit the sisters to see their red, white, and blue....while there leave them some scrappy love!!!

Sisterhood Social and a tragedy

Good Morning,
Today is a new challenge up at The Sisterhood! My dear friend, Teri, is hosting this week's Sisterhood Social. Teri wants to see your book or movie inspiration. This was an easy one for me, who doesn't love The Scarlet Letter?

I helped my Megan (now 21) create this for a project her senior year in high school. She created two summarized tags for each chapter of the book. We had so much fun working on this book together.
What is your favorite book or movie? Will it inspire you to create a project? If so, please share it with us at The Sisterhood!
Check out the inspiration my sistahs have for you, while there, be sure to leave them some love!
************************************************************************************
Today I also have some tragic news to share. For those of you who regularly follow my blog, you know my youngest niece, Ashela (10) dances with a competition squad. This photo shows her (in the back) and her little friend, Destiny (front) at the Spring Recital in May of this year.
Destiny was at the pool swimming on Friday. Her Grandmother was driving her, her friend, and older sister home from the pool. A 26 year old male, driving under the influence, hit their suv head on. Destiny was flown to a hospital in West Virgina, she had some surgery to her brain and fought so hard to live. After having a section of her brain removed, she was only given a 10% chance to live. Destiny died yesterday morning. Her grandmother is still fighting for her life. Her sister and friend escaped with minor injury. Destiny was only 10 years old, a very talented dancer, and a beautiful little girl. Please pray for her family, her friends, her community, and my little Ashlea, as we all grieve the loss of this precious child.

Good Morning,

Happy Birthday to my Aunt Wanda, who is just like my Mom! I love you!!!!!
I will not be visiting any blogs today. It's our closing day in the school district, we'll all be at the high school for training until 3:30. I'm on the council that will be interviewing for our new Principal, that will be from 4:30-???? whenever we finish! So, I'll see you guys on Thursday!

Today is a new challenge over at The Sisterhood....this week we are celebrating grandparents and grandchildren. I just had to use this photo of my Little Kids and my Granny. We had these taken in November.

I really wanted a shabby vintage feel to this one! The papers are all K & Co., the pearl spray and bloom are Prima, the trim is from my stash, and the title is Thickers.
Please visit my Sistahs and enjoy the inspiration that they have for you, and leave them some scrappy love! Can't wait to see what you do with this one!

For the second post, It is my week to host the challenge at The Sisterhood, which is to Celebrate the Month. That is perfect for me, as my birthday is June 7. I'm going with a birth month color and stone theme. The colors are baby blue, white, cream, and the stone is the beautiful pearl.

I'm sorry the photo is bad, it was pouring the rain when I took it.
This is a photo of me and my aunt. She is such a special person in my life. She raised me from the time I was 4 until I married my Honeybee. She didn't give life to me, but she taught me how to live. Please visit my fabby sistahs this week and leave them some scrappy love.
Have a great day!

anything is possible....

Good Morning,
Today is a new challenge day for us at The Sisterhood. This week we are Around the World again and my beautiful sistah, Micki is our hostess. She has taken us to Germany. You can use any thing that can be related to Germany. I chose to use the colors of the flag, red, black, and yellow. I also used an image that has flowers, the Emperor's flower is called "Bachelor's Button". This little image by CC Designs was just perfect to create those little blue flowers. So here's my take on the German challenge.
Here's a close up of the little doll and those "Bachelor's Buttons"

Now, you MUST check out what my super talented sistahs have for you inspiration this week, you'll be playing along with us for sure! They are linked up in my sidebar, leave them some love..

Two Cards Today...

Good Morning,
I have another double post today. First, I'm sharing my post for Penny's Challenges. This time, Penny has a recipe for us to follow: 1 ribbon, 2 patterned papers and three embellishments. I still had the Key to my Heart papers out and used scraps for this one. I made another of the punched flowers. I think it is just perfect on this card. Please drop by my super talented design sisters and leave them some love.

Next up is our new challenge at The Sisterhood. Our lovely hostess this week is Linda, she has a fun theme for you, YOU CRACK ME UP! This can be anything funny, a card, layout, or fun project. I used this great Dustin Pike image for this card. Doesn't this little fellow look like he needs to relax? These are CTMH papers and the ribbon and buttons are from stash.
Now, you need to see the inspiration that my sistahs have for you, I promise, you'll giggle when browsing. Be sure to give them so love.

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday! Play along with us this week and have FUN!!!

love....

Happy Wednesday!
Today brings about a new challenge at The Sisterhood. Our fabby sister, Tanis, is hosting this week. Our challenge is to "Celebrate the Month" Tanny chose her favorite stone for this one, ,the emerald, which is the birthstone for May. So, we want to see your wedding, engagement, or congrats projects with emerald as the main color or add in some emerald bling, it is all up to you! Just have fun!
We are being sponsored this week by Digisparkle, so our top sistah will win a voucher for some free digi's!

And here is my card. This is my brother Jarrod and his finance, Erica. They are planning to be married in September this year. This is one of their engagement photos. I know, they don't look happy, but that is the look the photographer was going for....
Believe it or not, this is the closest thing I had to emerald and no emerald bling! Oh my....
I embossed my card with the stylized flowers template, sanded, inked up the template and ran the white cardstock through. I so love that look! The ribbon is a tad bit more emerald. I tied on a little wedding ring set charm for the perfect finishing touch!
Please be sure to visit my fabby sistahs to be inspired by their emerald projects, and leave them some love!
Blessings,
