Party Time....

Good Morning,
I have a short post this morning, as I'm going to pick up my little kids. My sister is working this week and my BIL is off, but the kiddos want to come over and spend the remainder of the week with us...yay. I suppose the Xbox 360 and I will become great friends later...

Anyways, some of you have seen this card before, but I'm giving it as a New Year's card. I love the juniper and sorbet in this card. It has a spritz of glimmer mist on it too. My papers are CTMH, buttons are from stash, and the cart is Cuttin' Up.

Let It Snow...

Good Afternoon,
Yay, Blogger is making me smile again!

Today I have a very simple card to share with you. I know that after last week's storm, I really shouldn't be saying, "Let it Snow". I just can't help it, I love snow. This week's sketch at Practical Scrappers is a great one to play along with. I changed it up just a bit to fit my card. All the paper is from my stash and the silver snowflakes are from Wal-Mart. The sentiment is a sticker from an old old stash. I had fun putting this cute and simple one together. The snowflakes were cut from Christmas Solutions cart. and spritzed with glimmer mist.

I hope to see you trying this one out! Have a great day!

Winter Greetings...

Good Morning,
It is Monday and there is a new challenge up at Practical Scrappers. This week we want to see anything winter! My sister celebrates her birthday on New Year's Eve and I made this card for her. My paper is left overs from the AC Bailey kit I used two weeks ago. The rub-ons are Fancy Pants and the ribbon is stash. I love the way this card came out. You can check out Practical Scrappers for daily inspiration this week. I know that many of you are still spending time with families, if you do find time to create, share with us! Have a terrific Monday!

Some Photos of Snow...

Good Morning,
It feels really good to be able to get up and do a post this morning. I spent the day yesterday doing laundry and the remainder of the day at my Granny's. My sister had taken these photos last Saturday morning in the midst of the storm. This is my Gran's property and the tree damage she had.

This first photo a tree that fell from the neighbor's hillside across the road onto Gran's fence.
This is the same tree, just taken from inside the yard.

This is a 50+ year old white pine that has never broken in any ice or snow storm. Gran just had bought this little shed this past summer for the ridding mower and it was damaged through the storm.

This is a view of Gran's front yard and down the lane. Most of her yard decorations were down in the storm.

This is another shot of the white pine tree and just how it was broken.
These were taken early on Saturday morning. We accumulated another 6-8 inches of snow during the day. We are hearing that we may have yet another snow storm move beginning on Wednesday or Thursday of this week. I love the snow and think it is one of God's most beautiful creations. I just don't want to see the heavy damage that can sometimes accompany it. As of this morning, the report is just under 16,000 still without electricity in our region. I know that we are blessed to have gotten ours back as quickly as we did. I hope you all enjoy your Sunday!

Finally....We Have Electricity Again....

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! I want to let you all know why I've been MIA for the past week.

We had a major winter storm move in our region about 3:00PM last Friday, December 18. We had two inches in about an hour. My Honeybee and I went out to gather in some firewood, I got settled into scrapping, and the next thing we knew, there were 6 inches of snow and we had no electricity. My daddy had a tree fall over his drive, (he and mom were stranded on their way from getting groceries), so Ben and I cleared that tree. Mom and Dad finally got home only to find no electricity. So....to make a long story short, we had a final storm total of 12-14 inches of snow at my house, several trees down, live power lines down with those trees. We lost water and everything. By Saturday morning the National Guard was in and our area had been declared a State of Emergency.

My Honey and I only had the wood burning fireplace in our living room to depend on for alternate heat source. Somehow we made it through. There are still about 20,000 customers in our region without electricity. Ours finally came on Wednesday night. It was a mad rush at that point to get Christmas back on. We had already decided to postpone it until we had power. We all lost all the food in our fridges and freezers. So, there was getting all that shopping done again and the Christmas preps on. We had our usual dinner at Mom's on Christmas Eve and the Christmas Day dinner at my Granny's yesterday. Oh did I mention that our water just came back on yesterday morning. I was so wrapped up in keeping my fire going and survival, that I forgot to take pictures, my mom did get some and I'll post those a little later today. I just wanted to try to let you all know that the "Christmas Storm of 2009" wiped out my electricity and I was unable to get my DT submissions out, I'm sorry and hope you all understand. I'm trying to get all caught up on laundry and things here in the house today. I'm going to be taking some breaks throughout the day to visit and get caught up with you as well. I've not even been to email yet...

Tag.....You're It...

Good Morning,
I'm running way late with this post. I've got to be short this morning....I'm trying to sneak and do it while at school...giggles. Today is a new challenge at Humble Pie Stamps. Your challenge this week is to make anything that will be last minute, a tag, bookmark, etc. I wanted so badly to make a tag using this darling little candy cane from the Sweetie Pie line. I used lots of glitter to make it pop. Again, I used the PTI fold and go box. Be sure to check out what the other Baker's have cooked up this week. You can see their yummy creations here.

Deck the Halls....

Good Morning,
I'm a day late getting this post up. Blogger didn't like me very much yesterday. Let's hope this one works today.

This week at Practical Scrappers, we are making Christmas decorations. OMG, you have got to check out what my amazing dt sisters have designed for your inspiration! It will definitely give you some mojo to create last minute projects. Head over to Practical Scrappers to check it out!
I decided to alter a tin star. I had some of the yummy Bo Bunny papers left over from my AC Bailey kit, so I used that on my star. I love this little star. It was so easy to do. I used copy paper to get my pattern, drew, cut, inked and glued. I did let the glue dry overnight before hanging it on the tree. I totally love how it dress the star up! Look around your stash and see it there is something you already have that you can put a new spin on! Have a great day!

Tie it Up....

Good Morning,
Today is Monday and that is a new reveal day for Digital Ink Co. This week you are challenged to create something last minute, a gift tag, gift bag, last minute wrapping, etc. I was paired with Staming Dragon Designs. When I saw this holly and rose, it just called out to me to create a tag with it. I used my CTMH markers and lots of Martha glitter on this one. I wanted to add some sparkle. The papers are Chatterbox, the ink is CTMH, and the ribbon is from my stash. I used nesties to cut the tag. I hope this inspires you to make some last minute gift tags and such. Be sure to check out the dt and their last minute ideas as well. You can click the links in my sidebar.

My Guys....

Hello and Happy Saturday!
I'm kind of late posting today. I've got a full list of to do's today. The most important is to keep warm. Our Christmas in the Park was another great success. My sister and I stood for about three hours in 18 degree weather passing out Santa's treats. We were numb by the end, but had a grand time!
Today I am sharing a layout that was featured on Practical Scrappers yesterday. This layout came from a kit sponsored by my dt sister and friend, Jessica. She is one of the most incredibly talented scrappers I know. Jessica is a consultant for AC Bailey Designs. She is sponsoring us at Practical Scrappers. I encourage you to go visit her blog, introduce yourself, and enjoy her amazing projects.
Everything I used on this page came from the kit Jessica sent us. Isn't this paper so very yummy? Thanks Jessica for the incredible kit and I can't wait to shop at AC Bailey!

Joy at Humble Pie...

Happy Friday,
Tonight is our annual Christmas in the Park celebration. All the kiddos in our county come to a park in town for evening with Santa. They get to have pictures with him, see Ronald McDonald, the Oscar Meyer Weeniemobile, a live nativity, how Civil War Soldiers celebrated Christmas, there are inflatable slides and other toys, caroling, hot cocoa and apple cider, and SO much more. I always help out with the treat bags. I love seeing these little kids come in with all the excitement of the season in their eyes.

So now onto this card.... It is Friday and that is a new challenge day at Humble Pie Stamps. Our Bakers have challenged you to use dry embossing on your cards and projects this week. How much fun!!!! I had just gotten this new snowflake folder last weekend. Yay, I got to play. I love using the snowmen from the Sweetie Pie Collection that you can find at The Town Scrapper. Please see Phebe's sale at the top of my side bar. Be sure to check out the other Baker's work for this week and leave them some love. I'm sure they are busy in the kitchen and would love to hear from you.
Just a close up of the snowman and the embossing. I used some diamond stickles on there too!

Robin's Nest at Practical Scrappers....

Good Thursday Morning,
First, I want to apologize for not getting to read my blogs daily. Since we've returned from our weekend away, I've been very busy with church and school functions in the evenings. I do hope to get caught up tonight.
Speaking of getting caught up, here are two layouts I did for a feature at Practical Scrappers. One of our awesome sponsors is The Robin's Nest. They sent this yummy paper and embellies. Christine, Angie, Kerri, and myself got to design two pages using this kit. Don't you love this paper? This one features the sticker trees. The polka dot is the back side of another sheet from the kit. The poinsettias and ribbon are from my stash. The glitter alphabet came in the kit too!

I fell in love with this paper as soon as I opened the kit. Look at these incredible glittered flourishes. Oh my, this paper is soooooo beautiful. I printed one of Ashlea's ballet pix from the Nutcracker (2008) for this one. With paper this gorgeous, who needs embellies? I did use the holly rub-ons and the little baubles that were in the kit I used a piece of red organza to finish it off.

Let It Snow....

Good Wednesday Morning,
You know what Wednesday brings, a new challenge from Penny, at Penny's Challenges! Beginning this week, Penny's Challenges will be bi-weekly. This week we want to see Christmas stars. I love this little snowman by Simple Doodles. He has the most adorable little personality. His buttons are stars and I love the star on his hat. I wanted to go all monochromatic on this one. I chose a blue pattern paper from Cosmo Cricket, used the snowflake embossing folder, and some glimmer mist. I used some Martha Stewart glitters to add some sparkle. The sentiment is handwritten. Are you ready to show us your Christmas star projects? Please check out what my amazing design team sisters have to inspire you this week. I have the links posted in my side bar. Be sure to leave them some love!
Here is a close up of all the glitters and shimmers...

O Christms Tree....

Happy Tuesday,
I'm sharing a card that I totally adore. My very dear friend, Penny, has launched the grand opening of her NEW Creations by Penny store. This darling Christmas tree is one of her newest digi's. I couldn't wait to get to use it. I colored with my watercolors and then used some stickles to add the sparkle. It is also for the Cafe Mojo challenge this week, to send holiday wishes. You can visit my dt sisters via the links in my side bar. We have some stunning creations to share this week!
My card base is from the Robin's Nest. The flourishes are a beautiful dainty touch of green glitter to add the perfect touch to a card this time of year. I finished it with a rub-on sentiment and some ribbon from my stash.
If you haven't been to Creations by Penny, please visit, she has a sale running right now and some yumminess to give away!!!

Happy Anniversary Honeybee....

Second Post Today....
At exactly 4:30 pm EST today, I have been married for thirteen wonderful years to my Honeybee, Ben. The day we were married the temps were mild in the 50's with beautiful sunshine. Today was cold and we had the remains of a four inch snow from this weekend. We got the same weather at home that we had in the mountains of Tennessee.
I told my Honeybee that this was my best and favorite anniversary so far. We had a very relaxing weekend away, we were in the mountains with beautiful snow, and ate fabulous food the entire weekend. Our chalet was incredible and so were the memories we created there. We also watched my Ashlea in her two day dance competition. Her team took first place in their division in both jazz and pom routines. They won the Grand Champions award with a Nationals bid for the pom routine. I'm so proud of her! I love you baby girl!!!!
So, to you, my Honeybee, you have made the last thirteen years the most wonderful years of my life. I cherish every day spent with you. I love you with my heart and soul!
Now, I'm off to enjoy the evening with him! See you girlies tomorrow!

What I've Been Up To....

Good Evening!
I just wanted to share some of the day with you! Here is what my Honeybee and I saw first thing this morning! Isn't it just beautiful? Our little chalet is just amazing! We're having a wonderful time!

This is looking out the french door in our living room.
Once we got to the convention center and had Ashlea ready, you know I had to snap some pix with the holiday decorations. Ashlea is the one to the left and Katelyn is the girl to the right. She is one of Ashlea's friends.

Lined up and ready to make way to the staging area! Aren't they lovely?

This is the pom routine. It is a jazz routine using poms. I put her name above her, so you'd know which one she is.

I added her name here too. This is the jazz routine. This one is set to a magic mix. They brought the house down with it! YAY!!!

When I look at this one, taken just after the performance, I get tears in my eyes. My little girl isn't so little anymore. I'm so proud of her! I love you Ashlea, like the stars love the night sky!
Now, I want to know who says dancing is just for girls? That's what my two little boys want to know. This is my little nephews, Hunter in blue, and Jon-Christopher in orange. They were creating a dance routine of their own to the awesome 80's hits being played between performances.
Blessings,
