Stamping at Practical Scrappers....

Good Morning,
Practical Scrappers is changing things up a bit, adding just a bit more fun for us to use up our supplies in a practical way! This week the challenge is to use stamps. I did two cards. The red one was very simple, just stamped the stems, attached the flowers with brads. Then, I stamped the title Delight in Summer. This top card is my favorite of the two. So, if you're looking for inspiration head on over to Practical Scrappers and be inspired by the DT's fabby cards!

This card was another quick and simple one. I used last week's Unscripted Sketches for this one.

Ashlea's Dance Comp....

Good Morning,
Well, my post today is just the fair, nothing creative. My little niece Ashlea's competition was yesterday and I promised some photos...
They danced to a Magic Mix and it was a darling routine. Ashlea is the girl in the center of this photo (standing in front of the i in championships).

She is playing a little puppet master here. Again she's the one in the back.

This one is at the end of the the routine. She's the one being lifted on the left. Doesn't it look like they had so much fun? This was their first competition of the season and they were all so worried and nervous.

I really don't know why they were nervous....they won FIRST PLACE in their division!

I loved this one! She had just come from the stage and I had the camera ready to capture her excitement and relief that it was over!
I hope you all have a Blessed day! I'll have some more creative things tomorrow as I'm traveling back home today and have lesson plans to do when I'm home.

Dare To Be YOU....

Good Saturday Morning,
I'm in Louisville for the the State Fair. We arrived around midnight. Everyone is getting excited about the big dance comp this morning. I can't wait to post some photos later.

This morning I am posting a layout of my little Jon-Christopher. I'm sorry about the fuzzy photo. I had saved it to the desktop and it posted in a smaller size. I tried to make it bigger. Anyways, this is using Scrapsketch #148. The paper is CTMH Free Spirit.

Digital Ink Co. Design Team Call...

Hey all you challenge blog addicts, there is a new place to visit! It is Digital Ink Co. and they have just opened their store for digi stamps and the blog is having a DT call. I found out about the great new "fix" over at Boni Bleauxdesigns.
Ever since Penny began creating her digi stamps, I've been hooked! Let's face it, I have so many paper, glitter, stamp, digi, and ink addicts it doesn't even take a glimpse or whiff to get me hooked...hehe!!! It's alright to talk freely in front of DH, he occasionally works on Saturdays to feed my habit! I love you Honeybee!
I'm posting these two cards that feature digital images. I love both cards and think they kind of capture my style and coloring abilities. Both have been posted on the blog before. The cupcake card was posted on August 6, as my Granny's 83 birthday card. The image is Penny's.

This second card is featuring a digi stamp by Lindsay's Stamp Stuff. This card was posted on July 15. I am selecting this one because it was one of my first digi images I did and I really was pleased with this card. I just adore the little rattle.
So go over to Digital Ink Co. and check it out!

Get Sketchy 2....

Good Evening Everyone!
I'm sorry I'm late getting a post on. My little Ashlea is about to compete in her first competition dance event. Back in June she was selected by her dance school to be on the Junior Prep Elite squad. Their first comp is Saturday at the State Fair in Louisville. We're leaving right after school tomorrow. I've had a busy evening trying to get things ready.
So, I made a super quick card for the Get Sketchy #2 challenge. This card took literally 5 minutes to make. The sketch is awesome this week, Dora! The DT totally rocks!!!!
If you're not familiar with Get Sketchy, they post a new sketch challenge every Friday, so visit tomorrow to see a new sketch.

Beautiful Girl...

Who is excited to see this week's challenge at Practical Scrappers? Well, this week you need to pull out vellum. You know, we all have it hidden in a drawer, in a paper stash, or in a quote book. Now is the time to dust it off and put it to use on a layout or card. I pulled mine out, I'm quite sure it is at least three years old, and put it in the Cricut. I used the Storybook to cut flourishes from my vellum. First I tried using the low pressure but it didn't cut completely through it. I then changed it to medium pressure and perfect cuts. Don't worry the Cricut will take care of your vellum....
I know you have it in your possession, now is the time to surrender and put it to use. Don't forget to share on the PS Mr. Linky! By the way, this is my 'Beautiful Girl, Ashlea'

You're a Hoot...

Good Morning,
I hope you all have had a restful and relaxing weekend. I was supposed to help my sister move my oldest niece, Megan, into her apartment at UK yesterday. It's a new construction and well, not finished yet. The complex has arranged for them to stay in the Hyatt until construction is over. So, I stayed home and deep cleaned my house. The washer was non-stop all day. I was able to get one crafty project accomplished. Here is my post this week for Creations by Penny. This digi is one of faves. When I first saw this circle tree, I knew I wanted it to have an owl and that's just what I did. My Uncle Gary has a birthday on Tuesday and this is his card. I made the circle card for Paper Addicts Anonymous shape challenge by Emma.

Sassy Girl....

Good Morning,
It's Wednesday, and a new challenge is up at Penny's Challenges. This week that ever so talented Diva, Penny, created a sketch for us. I wanted to have fun with this sketch. Laurel had sent me this image. I so adore it and appreciate you sending me those goodies Laurel! I'm putting a Starbucks card inside and giving this to my Sassy Megan when we move her back in at UK this weekend. Megan is a lot like me, she really loves a great cup of coffee and a latte now and then. This little image was so perfect for this card. Now that you've seen the fabby sketch, are you ready to play with us this week?

Dry Erase Board....

Happy Monday,
I have a dry erase board for you this morning. I've made several of these since January. This message board is for my oldest niece, Megan. She's a junior at University of Kentucky. Both years she lived in the dorm, I had altered clipboards for her to hang on the outside of her door for notes. Since she's moving into an apartment this year, I thought I'd alter a picture frame for her. These are really easy. Pick up a frame you like, I prefer this one from the dollar store. It's cheap and has that wide wooden frame that allows for embellishing. Cut your background paper to fit (mine is a 5 X 7 frame), you can add stickers to the paper or whatever you want, then add embellies to the frame. Just pick up a dry erase marker to write on the glass with and, ta da, a decorative message board! I hope you're having a terrific Monday!
